Baltimore Ravens Ray Rice domestic violence beatdown described as minor!
Ray was seen on videotape dragging his fiancee Janay Palmer out of the elevator at the Revel Casino in Atlantic City and she was unconscious. After he dragged out of the elevator he callously dropped her. FACE FIRST.
Then, for good measure, because her legs were still inside the elevator he kicked them aside.
Rice’s attorney Michael Diamondstein contends that the Baltimore Ravens Ray Rice domestic violence beatdown was, you know, just a minor little physical thing and also said that the video doesn’t tell the whole story because it only shows the very end of the encounter.
Ray Rice and fiancee Janay Palmer allegedly had a good time in Atlantic City on Feb 15. when they were partying at a club at the Revel Casino.
Later, though, things apparently soured and a physical altercation occurred inside the elevator.
Fortunately she regained consciousness with apparently has no lasting effects.
They were transported to Atlantic city PD and, as is customary in domestic violence cases, each was charged with violence-simple assault and released with a summons.
As of this writing Ray Rice has not issued the expected mea-culpa or any type of public statement.
Rice is in the midst of a 5-year contract that’s worth $35 million dollars so is Janay Palmer going to stand by her multi-million dollar man?
Probably. She’s reportedly currently living with him and has been linked with the running back since 2008.
Strangely, she was arrested in 2010 for shoplifting a pricey dress worth $1,000 and she pleaded guilty to the charge. Supposedly she need the dress for a big night out – – – or maybe to hook and keep a million dollar running back beau.
That does not send a good message out to victims of domestic violence.
One of Rice’s teammates, Torrey Smith went on record and said,
There’s never room for domestic violence in any situation. I’m not going to make up excuses for him because it is what it is … and we don’t even know what it exactly is. But whatever final details come of it, it doesn’t really matter to me. I just know at this point they’re committed to growing from this situation, learning from it and building on their relationship. As their friends — I look at him as a brother, Janay as a sister — we’re there to support them.
He could also face suspension from the NFL.
