A former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Bob Welch commits suicide.  According to the Associated Press, the 65-year-old Welch shot himself in the chest inside his Nashville-area home.  He had been suffering from health issues and left a suicide note. His wife found his body.

Controversy arose when Welch was not included among the members of Fleetwood Mac inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. He was hurt at the exclusion and said that Mick Fleetwood had credited him with “saving Fleetwood Mac”.

Bob Welch joins another former Fleetwood Mac guitarist in heaven that passed away earlier this year. In early January, Bob Weston, who was briefly with the band in the early ’70s, passed away at his London home from a gastrointestinal hemorrhage brought on by cirrhosis of the liver. He was 64. He was having an affair with Mick Fleetwood’s wife, Jenny Boyd and fired in late 1973.
