There was a stabbing at the House of Blues Las Vegas Saturday night during the Tenacious D concert.
The House of Blues (HOB) is located on Las Vegas Blvd inside the Mandalay Bay
The stabbing occurred at about 9:30pm Saturday night, just about 15 minutes into the set by Jack Black and Kyle Gass in the 1500 seat venue.
A man was stabbed in the leg and according to the Las Vegas Weekly, there was lots of blood. The fight broke out near the left stage side bar area.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) were ultra quick in responding roping off the area. They then shut down the concert venue as well as the parking garage while they were searching for the suspects in the stabbing.
Approximately 40 minutes after the incident, Jack Black made an announcement:. He said, “This is no joke. Due to a serious situation we’re shutting it down. We can only play one more song, but we’re gonna rock it out.”

Tenacious D played their final song,“Tribute”and left the stage. The lights came back on just after 10pm and the concert was officially over. The Steel Panther show, a late night show which takes place every Saturday night at HOB at 11:30pm was also cancelled. Paper signs started getting posted throughout the venue apologizing for the inconvenience and letting people know that they could obtain refunds at the place where they originally purchased their tickets.
After shutting down the venue and parking garage, Metro Police did take one person into custody as a suspect in the stabbing and said they are not looking for other suspects.
The man stabbed was originally reported to be in critical condition. Later reports say that he is stable. No word on what caused the fight.
Tenacious D is scheduled to perform in California July 29th and July 30th. No word if they plan to schedule a return the HOB.
