Katie Holmes lands a Broadway gig
Katie Homes lands a Broadway gig – her first major new project since her split (escape) from Tom Cruise,
Katie Holmes signed on for Dead Accounts. She will play the role of Lorna in a family comedy set in Cincinnati. Lorna lives with her aging parents and is trying to get her life together. Her grown son returns home with a lot of money and a missing wife! .
The five-character comedy is set to open in the fall at the Music Box Theatre in New York and will be directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien . Dead Accounts had its world premiere at the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.
Although Katie lands a Broadway gig, it is not her first time on Broadway. Her debut on Broadway was in 2008 where she starred in a revival of Arthur Miller‘s All My Sons. Katie seems quite excited to land her post Tom role. She said,
“I am thrilled to be coming back to the Broadway community and honored to be a part of this team.
Everyone it seems is rooting for Katie who kept a relatively low profile once she married Tom Cruise. During their 5 and 1/2 year marriage, the “Dawsons Creek” star seemed to place her career on hold. Since the split, which blindsided Tom Cruise, Katie has maintained a fairly visible profile in New York with daughter Suri Cruise almost always by her side and has already filmed an episode of Project Runway.
Heidi Klum, who split with hubby Seal, knows what it’s like to go through a high profile separation in the public eye. She recently said,
Sounds like great advice.
Just about everyone is thrilled to hear that Katie Homes lands a Broadway gig and we just know that it will only be a short time until she regains her momentum.
