One of the absolutely greatest actors of all times is slated to take on the role of legendary and disgraced Penn State football coach Joe Paterno.

Al Pacino will play Joe Paterno in the as of yet unnamed movie.
Joe Paterno worked at Penn State for decades and, at one time, had a terrific reputation as the “winningest” coach in college football history.
But there was a dark side.
A side that put college football above all else – even child molestation.
What an epic movie it will make!
No doubt in the role of coach, Al Pacino will play Joe Paterno and show the coach from his early years right up to the end.
It will be interesting to see just how realistic and detailed the story will be.

Will the role of pedophile and former Assistant Coach Jerry Sandusky play a prominent role.
Seems like nowadays you can’t mention one without the other.
The movie is still in it’s infancy and there is much planning that needs to be done before the movie gets off the ground.

There needs to be an actual script as well a director secured.
Still couldn’t you just picture Al Pacino playing Joe Paterno yelling , screaming and pretty much intimidating the players and anyone else who got in his way.
Of course they will try to humanize Paterno, showing his battle with lung cancer, how he believed or at least tried to rationalize nothing was wrong and ultimately his death.
The movie would not be complete without showing the aftermath of what happened to Penn State – the sanctions against the University, the removal of the statue of Paterno and the reversal of what would have been a wonderful legacy – – if only he did the right thing.
It will be a great movie and to have Al Pacing play Joe Paterno would just about ensure blockbuster success.
