We know in Hollywood that nothing lasts forever, especially marriages. Even so, it was still surprising to hear that Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman split after 30 years of marriage.
30 years of marriage! That’s a mighty long time.
The duo was one of Hollywood’s longest lasting couples so it is truly kind of sad to hear that they are splitting up.
The pint sized stars seemed so well-suited for each other.
They looked good together physically and truly seemed compatible working on a number of projects together.
The problem seems to be Devito’s roving eye. Something that Perlman has had enough of.
Although married for 30 years, Danny Devito and Rhea Perlman have actually been together for a whopping 42 years.

They met way back in 1970 when Perlman went to see a friend in an off-Broadway play that DeVito was also in called, “The Shrinking Bride”.
People magazine reports that after the show Perlman went out to eat with cast. Perlman and Devito got to talking and it appears to have been love at first sight.
They hardly knew each other yet they moved in together two weeks later.
They’ve been together ever since and decided to get married 12 years later in January of 1982.
The couple has three children together; Lucy , 29, Grace, 27, and Jacob, 24.
DeVito who stars in “It’s always Sunny in Philadelphia “, spoke about his marriage in July of this year this year and didn’t give any hint that anything was amiss.
He told The Big Issue,
if you’re going to be compadres, friends forever, you have to be considerate and make many concessions to be able to live together.
Apparently those concessions were too many yet there was no talk then of a Danny Devito and Rhea Perlman split.
Really it’s just sad when a couple that has been married that long decides to call it quits.
This was not like a Kim Kardashian marriage arranged for ratings. It was a true union.
We wish the very best to both Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman as they adjust to “singledom” in their twilight years.
