Looks like Jay Leno takes a huge pay cut to save the jobs of some of his staff.
The late night funnyman has been under fire in the fast from some of his fellow comediennes for basically turning his backs on them.
They say he broke the code that struggling comediennes have which is that you help one another.
Back in June, J.J. Walker from Good Times fame – a sitcom from the 70’s went as far as to accuse Jay Leno of stealing material and passing it off as his own.
Walker emphatically claimed that it even drove one comedienne to commit suicide.
Seems like the big guy has redeemed himself.
NBC has been slashing budgets left and right and The Tonight Show was not spared.

Even with Leno taking the pay cut, 20 jobs were still lost an their annual budget was reduced by about 20%
Fox News is reporting that the pay cut has been confirmed by the NBC network.
Now don’t go feeling sorry for Jay Leno.
His contract was extended until May of 2014 and even with the 50% pay cut, Jay Leno earns a whopping $15 million.

Now although Jay Leno truly seems to be coming across as a “nice guy”, there is one person who thinks that the whole Jay Leno takes huge pay cut deal is a bunch of bull.
Howard Stern, now a Judge on American’s got talent, rifled a bunch of feathers when he had some not so kind words for Leno and he was allegedly reprimanded for it. Here’s what Stern said a couple weeks back when news of the cuts began circulating,
Jay Leno is a scumbag. That’s what that means. He’s a spineless maggot. Jay wanted to cut staff. He’s embarrassed to do it. He didn’t want to come off as a bad guy. NBC took the hit for him, because they’re a corporation … My bullshit meter is going off all over the place.
