Lot of sad news for die-hard DWTS’ fans with new that Maksim Chmerkovskiy will Quit ‘Dancing with the Stars’.

Chmerkovskiy, long a fan favorite, has announced that it is time for him to move on.

The oftentimes outspoken dancer has said that he is frustrated working in the shadows of his celebrity dancing partners and that other dancers feel the same way.

In his recent interview with the New York Post, Maxim said,

Essentially, 80% of our job is to give somebody another push in their career. Or we make them into likable characters. But at the end of the day, they go off and they better themselves.

He said that at age 32, the issue is now, “What about me time”.

Maksim, better known as simply Maks, currently hosts the Ukranian game show “The Cube” and once appeared on Ukraine’s version of “The Bachelor”, says that he has been bitten by the acting bug.

Working toward his acting goals, Maksim has secured a lead role in a new movie, a romantic comedy, where he plays a Latin dancer  that he, “would not like for my daughter”.

Maks has plenty to keep him busy since he also owns four Dance with Me studios; 2 in New York, 1 in Connecticut and 1 in New Jersey, along with Tony Dovolani and his brother, Val Chmerkovskiy.

Maks joined Dancing with the Stars in Season 2 and says that enough is enough.

He said he wishes the show much success but it is simply time for him to move on.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Kirstie Alley are teaming up again this season on DWTS

Talking about the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars where he will again be partnered with Kirstie Alley, Maks is not sure how the duo will fare. He tells the New York Post,

We may have had a couple of weeks last time that we cruised on popularity or fan appeal or whatever.

But I am not really sure that is going to work for us this time. I am not sure people are going to vote for us just because it is us.

He also says, “I am a lot of fun to watch, even without constant drama.”

How true and DWTS will certainly have some big shoes to fill next season.

Even though Maksim Chmerkovskiy will Quit ‘Dancing with the Stars’, the show will go on.
