Nivea Drop Rihanna
They’ve gone though some personnel changes at Nivea and one of the first big announcements was that Nivea drops Rihanna as it’s spokesperson.
Stefan Heidenreich the head of Nivea’s parent firm was very direct in his statement.
The advert starring Rihanna was a no go. I do not understand how Nivea can be brought into association with Rihanna. Nivea is a company which stands for trust, family and reliability.
Last year, Shine from Yahoo reported that a representative for the brand, Markus Pinger, gushed about landing her and said,
We are excited to have Rihanna supporting us in our celebration and building a new generation of fans. “Over the past 100 years, Nivea has been an iconic skin-care brand across the world. Rihanna is a music icon and her digital footprint will help us bring our anniversary celebration to consumers wherever they are.
New Management, different philosophies. Such is life.
Although they didn’t feel that way last year, there are plenty of people out there who can understand why he feels that way.
If you are anywhere over the age of 25, would you really want your kid to be like Rihanna? I mean really.
It’s tempting to say you’d be OK with it because of all the money that comes along with the fame that she has but there’s something that is still so raw, uncouth and just plain ghetto about Rihanna.
Those qualities have come to be expected of her and quite frankly, it’s part of her appeal.
Some are saying she was fired for being too sexy but that’s not really it, more like too trashy based on Nivea’s statement.
Although both are appealing there’s a big difference between trashy and sexy.
Pamela Anderson is trashy yet sort of sexy in like a pornographic way.
Jennifer Lopez is sexy! Kate Hudson is sexy. Fergie is sexy and hot and Selena Gomez is gorgeous and sexy.
As for Rihanna, well she probably fits into the category of hot ‘n trashy!
Although she’s gorgeous and can really sing, it will be hard for her to permanently separate herself from the whole Chris Brown fiasco.
For many she’ll still be known for a long LONG time as the dumb gal who had her faced bashed in and is still so messed up in her own head that she reportedly still sees the guy, Chris Brown, who f–ed up her up.
She can silence the naysayers.
No doubt she’s got offers left and right for sure so she won’t be disappointed that the powers to be at Nivea find her “unsuitable” for their campaign.
Even though Rihanna is likely irritated that Nivea dropped her, she’ll survive just fine.
We won’t get to know her thoughts about it on the big upcoming Oprah interview though since it id has already been taped.
There are plenty of other opportunities awaiting the beauty that hails from Barbados.
