Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes splitting up
Are Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes splitting up? Unfortunately it looks that way.
After 5 years of marriage, it looks like Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have decided to pull the plug and she’s the one pulling it.
“This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family,” Holmes’s attorney, Jonathan Wolfe, tells People. “Katie’s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.”
Cruise has released his own statement after Katie released hers, “Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children. Please allow them their privacy,”

This is Holmes first marriage and the third for Tom Cruise.
What will happen to Suri Cruise? Who will she live with as the primary caretaker?
It is obvious from Tom Cruise’s statement that Katie Holmes was the initiator in filing the paperwork for divorce.
The happy couple persona they cultivated to the public was obviously not such a happy union as we all thought especially after seeing the exclusive photo of Tom photographed with another woman in Iceland days ago that TMZ has posted. Could Tom be having an affair which prompted Katie Holmes to file for divorce? And they haven’t been seen in public since February of this year!
Katie Holmes seems to be a really great mother and very, very close to her daughter, Suri. Not surprisingly. she reportedly wants full custody of daughter, Suri.
Will Tom Cruise allow it? Tom Cruise is an extremely powerful guy in Hollywood Circles and when he and Nicole Kidman were divorced we all know that Tom Cruise received “control” of his children when they divorced.
There was so much talk of Suri’s parentage when she was born so it will be interesting to see if any of this will come out in the divorce case and, if true, will certainly bolster Katie Holme’s chance of receiving the full custody she is seeking if Cruise is not Suri’s biological father..
He was also married to actress Mimi Rogers from 1987 to 1990.
There is talk of an existing prenup that would provide Katie with approximately $275 million dollars still a far cry from what Cruise is worth.
