Coolio’s son, Gritis Ivey, is off to prison in Las Vegas for his part in a home invasion.
Back in November 2011, Coolio’s son, Gritis Ivey, was arrested in sin city along with a prostitute, Shantrice Wilkerson.
They were accused of a home invasion after they allegedly busted into a Las Vegas apartment with a gun,forced the tenant into the bathroom and then ransacked the place. But wait till you hear how it all went down.
Apparently Shantrice Wilkerson, was at the LAX Nightclub at The Luxor and set her sights on her “mark”, a guy named Joseph Hall. He didn’t know she was a prostie and she apparently charmed him by telling him that she always dreamed of doing the deed on a pile of money. Hall asked if 5G was enough and of course, Wilkerson said yes so off to his apartment they went.
He got he cash out of a safe and they allegedly ended up at Wilkersons’s place before the deal fell apart. She asked him for the money, he said no and left. But the enterprising Shantrice Wilkerson remembered we he lived. She then enlisted Ivey’s help to go rob the place three days later.
The prostitute and Ivey returned to Hall’s apartment 3 days later,. Ivey had a gun, put the roommate in the bathroom and Coolio’s son, Gritis Ivey and the enterprising hooker Shantrice Wilderson stole the safe, electronics and presumably a bunch of other stuff. The roommate was able to ID the duo.
TMZ reported that Ivey agreed to a deal earlier this week in which he agreed to plead guilty to a felony robbery charge. In exchange, prosecutors would drop the remaining four felony charges. Don’t know why they are making the deal, though.
At one point, Coolio himself was arrested for outstanding warrants after a traffic strop In Las Vegas. He was ironically taken to the Clark County Detention Center – the very same place where he son is!
Anyway. he will be formally sentenced on September, 12, 2012. Even with the plea deal, Coolio’s son, Gritis Ivey, is off to prison in Las Vegas facing a maximum of 10 years in the can and a minimum of 3.5 years.
