Lisa Marie Presley is at it again. A new album and a new round of publicity appearances and interviews. She appeared on American idol last night, dressed in a long black outfit and sung a song that didn’t seem half bad although one day later, I can’t recall the name or even one word of the song.

This time around she says she lives in the “middle of nowhere”  After reading through her recent interview and remembering one of her past one’s on Howard Stern many years ago, it seems that Lisa Marie Presley lives in the ozone.  Not of this earth.

A direct descendant of Elvis, the absolute King, I think that most people assume she can sing well and expect her to have a larger than life persona.  No doubt she can sing.  It’s just not anything even remotely close to what you’d expect.  She sings with a pain in her voice and her sound is part soft rock, part blues and part boring.

According to her recent interview with FOX411’s Pop Tarts column, Lisa recalled living in Graceland and said,

We shot it in the forest next door to Graceland which I was never allowed into as a child, it was open public property and people would always be lurking around and looking over the fence and it was always dangerous,” Presley recalled. “Now that it is part of the actual property it was fun for us to go out there and blow smoke and walk through the trees and be free in the forbidden forest.

Dangerous?  Although women camped out at Graceland, her statement seems a bit out of touch.  But that’s how she grew up. I’m telling you, Lisa Marie Presley lives in a secluded fairyland.  On the Howard Stern interview years back, I think it was April of 2003, it was very apparent that Lisa Marie Presley lives in the world that only a child of Elvis could live in.  After trying to convince Howard Stern and Robin Givens that she really was normal and how she drove herself everywhere and did her own shopping, she came apart fast.  They both had some fun with her and asked some basic questions which she stumbled over.  She wasn’t sure how much milk was or really anything from a normal grocery store and then when asked how much a stamp was, she thought it was 13 cents.  It was 37 cents at the time.

She seems quite pleased with her new album release and said,

I was a little over-saturated and tapped out creatively after the last two records. I have always been a singer/songwriter and I was pushed in places I didn’t want to do, like pop or top forty. I don’t belong there. I don’t want to dress like a sex pot to try to get attention and sing on-stage, that is not who I am.  I am proud of this record. It is raw and vulnerable. It is nerve-wracking, it is a bit like putting a target on your head and saying ‘go ahead and shoot me,’ but music is important in this world and I am willing to do whatever it takes.

If she is serious about her “whatever it takes” statement , then she might want to show the public, or at least pretend convincingly, that Lisa Marie Presley lives in the real world.
