Has the Indian media gone too far? Indian star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan slammed for being fat.

Former Miss World, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, a model turned movie star, is receiving a lot of negative attention in the media.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan1 150x110 Indian star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan slammed for being fatBachchan, known for her stunning, exotic looks had a baby in November of last year and hasn’t yet returned to her “pre-baby weight”. It seems that the media in India is brutal, maybe even worse then the media in the USA.  Known internationally as the “Words Most Beautiful Woman”, fortunately it seems that Indian star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan slammed for being fat, takes it all in stride.

She is expected to walk the red carpet in Cannes later this month and also will also be attending an AIDS fundraising dinner. Reports are she is bringing her new daughter with her, as she has done for her work related trips since becoming a mother. Good for her.

It seems that the world is obsessed with being thin.  While most can fully understand to cultivate a certain look especially when you are in the public eye, just how far is too far.  Are there any limits?

Celebrities are people too and they suffer the same fate that many other women who have children go through.  Getting your body back.  Some are really lucky and it’s quick.  For others the process takes a bit longer.

In fact, there are many docs out there that recommend that women lose the weight gradually just like a regular diet.  One to two per pounds per week so maybe she is trying to follow that recommendation.

In any case, it’s just mean.  She knows she gained weight.

Whether it’s Hollywood or Bollywood, if you are choosing a career in the public eye, you have to be prepared for the backlash, however mean and inappropriate it may be.
