Even though the US is in the midst of gripping economic woes, some celebrities are fortunate enough to rise above it all. Especially if you’re Jennifer Lopez. Headlines have been blaring that Jennifer Lopez tops Forbes Celebrity 100 list.
Only a year ago, many would have thought Lopez, more commonly known as Jlo, was on her way out. Her albums ad movies over the past few years have been . . well forgettable. You know how age conscious Hollywood is. Once you are past 40, that landmark usually signals a change in the tide. Out with the old and in with the young! You can still be somewhat popular just usually not a megastar. So what happened?
Can it be that Jennifer Lopez tops Forbes Celebrity 100 list because of her exposure as a judge on American Idol? You betcha. That “job” alone was worth $20 million! Smart gal that she is, she certainly used that job to her advantage and made a whopping $52 million over the last 12 months, which includes her music, endorsements, her fragrance, her clothing line at Kohl’s and don’t forget she has a new movie out too plus a young boyfriend to boot. Her earning over the past 12 months equals 1 million a week. A huge payday indeed.
