Mariah Carey jealous of Nicki Minaj?
Is Mariah Carey jealous of Nicki Minaj? or is Mariah just putting on a Divalicious show?
Perhaps a bit of both.
It doesn’t even matter because it really appears that American Idol is done.
Although we all loved Paula Abdul, the show went on without her and, if you really admit it, her absence wasn’t that noticeable.
When Simon left, everyone noticed.
The Idol folks went through a few bumps and then Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler joined Randy Jackson at the Judges table and it seemed that American Idol was saved.
And then the mass exodus.
Steven Tyler left and the Idol execs could not come to terms with Jlo which left Randy Jackson as the only Judge and rumor has it, he will serve in a mentor’s role and not at the judge’s table.
American Idol – Out with the old, in with the new.
When the first rumors started that Mariah Carey was joining, most believed that the Idol execs couldn’t even afford her – even Nick Cannon, her hubby said that.
Then news came that she actually sealed the deal.
The build-up started but almost straight away, she made a HUGE blunder.
She released Triumphant, 3 versions of it actually, to lackluster sales and reviews. She should have waited for her Idol debut.
Mariah is an enormous talent and can come across as very nice however she has a rep as being hard to work with and downright nasty.
We’ve gotten to see a little of the cattiness when word has been leaked that she absolutely freaked when she heard that Nicki Minaj might be joining her as an American Idol judge.

Nicki has got a lot of talent too and she speaks her mind AND she is younger.
She can relate well to the audience that American Idol Executives want to target.
Even though she can be a bit over the top sometimes, she really seems to be able to carry herself quite well and we all know from the HOT 97 fiasco that she certainly is not afraid of standing up for herself and speaking her mind no matter whether she is right or wrong.
It will be funny if she does get the job to watch the fireworks since Nicki wants positive people surrounding her and since she is not paying the other judges, she can’t control it.
Could this be why Mariah is throwing a hissy fit?
Is she unhappy because she won’t be the center of attention?
Maybe she just doesn’t want to compete with any other females?
For all the moolah that she is getting and for someone that has not had a release, until recently, in 3 years maybe she needs a reality check and Nicki might just be the one to do it.
Can’t wait to see either of their demands for what they want on the set since they will be probably be trying “out diva” one another!
