Actress Taryn Manning arrested for beating up make-up artist. Perhaps best known for playing Eminem‘s ex-girlfriend in the movie 8 mile, the actress was arrested Thursday for allegedly assaulting her makeup artist, assistant and friend.
Apparently the 33-year-old Manning was arraigned early Friday morning.
She spent more than 24 hours locked up before being released on her own recognizance.
It seems that Manning had a fight on Thursday with her makeup artist and assistant Holliann Hartman inside the Dream Hotel in Chelsea, New York.
That’s the same hotel where Lindsay Lohan was recently accused of hitting a pedestrian with her car.
Apparently Manning was charged with two misdemeanor charges stemming from the fight. She is accused of kicking and punching the 23-year-old Hartman.
The Daily News reports that it was a pretty vicious assault and that Manning beat her up pretty well, slamming her head against the floor and wall. Hartman reportedly suffered numerous bruises on her body from the alleged attack.
Mannings attorney, Joseph Tacopina says it’s all just a little misunderstanding.
He acknowledges that Manning and Hartman got into a confrontation but stresses that it was not an assault.
Tacopina also said that Hartman called to say that she does not wish to pursue the case.
He said it was simply a late night argument that turned into a physical altercation.
Sure, like that happens all the time, right?
The Daily News also reports that Manning has been ordered to stay away from Hartman until their next court date.
According to the New York Post, Manning is due back in court November 13.
