Katie Homes attorney, Jonathan Wolfe, had this to say to People about the Tom Cruise and Katie Homes divorce settlement,
The case has been settled and the agreement has been signed. We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life. Wow. Talk to of a quick settlement was in the air but in under 2 weeks!. With such a mega powerful superstar such as Tom Cruise, there was speculation that “legal wrangling” and “positioning” could drag the case on. After all, the divorce had only been filed a week and a half ago.
In an earlier joint statement both of their reps said,
We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri’s best interests. We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other’s respective beliefs and support each other’s role as parents.

And now the speculation begins. Who will Suri live with? How often will Tom Cruise see his daughter if she indeed with live with Katie?
People had earlier quoted unnamed sources close to both sides saying that the couple were working on an arrangement that would allow Suri to live in New York with Holmes and give Cruise generous visitation rights.
What role did Scientology play?
If you notice, the Church of Scientology has largely stayed out of the fray to the surprise of many. Although there were reports of Katie being watched by unknown people in luxury vehicles, it is not known if they were reps of the Church and what, if any influence, the Church did have.
Many speculated that the role and influence of the Church of Scientology on Suri Cruise’s life is what prompted Katie to file for divorce in the first place.
For an agreement to be reached so quickly, Katie was apparently satisfied with the terms.
Was Tom amenable and motivated to reach an agreement quickly and release the reins on raising Suri full time because of his reported #2 spot as head of the Church?
Will Katie be barred from speaking out as is reportedly has been the case with his previous 2 wives, Nicole Kidman and Mimi Rogers?
So many questions and so few answers at this time.
The good news is that since the Tom Cruise and Katie Homes divorce settlement has been reached, they can both go on with their lives.
