Houston family capitalizing on death of Whitney Houston?
The Houston family seems to be quite busy making lots of money since the untimely death of Whitney Houston which makes you wonder if the Houston family capitalizing on death of Whitney Houston is appropriate and more importantly whether it will further tarnish Whitney’s legacy and memory which has already been overshadowed by her drug abuse and daughter Bobbi Kristina’s antics.
So just what has the Houston family been up to, you ask?
Cissy Houston is writing a book. According to The New York Times, Cissy, “met with publishers in New York”, to shop a book about her daughter. OK maybe that would be a way for her to deal with the death of her daughter. Cissy allegedly told one publisher, “It’s going to be the bad, it’s going to be the good.”. I’m sure we can all appreciate that.
Then comes the news that Cissy released a gospel album. The album, Walk On By Faith – EP, released just this week, is her first new music since her daughter’s death and more importantly her first new music in more than a decade. hmmm makes you wonder.
More recently, it has been revealed that the Houston family capitalizing on her death is running rampant with the news of a reality show.
According to TMZ.
Cissy Houston knows BK shares Whitney’s passion for music … and she believes a reality show could be the perfect place to showcase Bobbi’s talent.
We’re told … Cissy also believes a reality show will “help with the healing process” by “keeping the family as one.”
Cissy also likes the fact that her “extended family” will be making money from the deal.
The reality show will feature Bobbi Kristina, of course, along with Whitney’s sister-in-law and manager, Pat Houston, Pat’s daughter Rayah, Whitney’s brother Gary who is her husband….and “technically” not a Houston, nor is Pat.
When did Gary become a Houston? He’s her step brother and his name is Gary Garland. Did he change it to Houston? And his wife Pat changed hers too? As late as 2008, he was still going by his given name, Gary Garland.
Most importantly is what happened to helping Bobbi Kristina? Did her alleged mental breakdown and drug problem miraculously go away? Does the signing of a lucrative contract for reality television show make it go away? Or has the almighty dollar overshadowed it all?
Pat Houston has been very vocal in the aftermath of Whitney’s death telling others that Whitney’s mother, Cissy, just sort of put her head in the sand with Whitney’s problems. Shoot, she even implicated on the Oprah interview that Whitney was murdered.
Seems like Pat Garland or Pat Houston is running the show.
