Journey Guitarist Neal Schon and ‘Real Housewives’ Star Michaele Salahi Engaged

It was only a matter of time before we’d be hearing, “Journey Guitarist Neal Schon and ‘Real Housewives’ Star Michaele Salahi Engaged” and while we offer congrats to the apparently happy couple, Michaele Salahi and even Neal Schon have rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.
When Michaele was married then hubby, Tareq Salahi, their claim to fame was that they crashed a dinner party at the White House for Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and posted photos to facebook hobnobbing with a bevy of people including the then White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, Katie Couric,Slumdog Millionaire composer A.R. Rahman and even some U.S. Marines.
The duo then worked hard at parlaying that “classless” behavior into a career, similar to the whole Kim Kardashian sex tape deal.
Some questioned, at the time, why Bravo would give Michaele Salahi a job on the show. At the time, Andy Cohen said,
We kept Michaele in the show because she has a compelling life story, distinct relationships with the other women, and most especially because she represents a very real example of the inextricably intertwined worlds of political connections with social hierarchy. To the people who might excoriate us and say we’re making Michaele famous or glorifying what she did: ‘here’s what’ — we don’t make shows to make people famous and as a corollary, we don’t view being on a television show either as a reward or a punishment. That’s up to the individuals who choose to do so and the people who choose to watch and react.
Schon, for his part acted like a puppy dog rekindling his love with Michaele – – while she was still married to someone else!
The Journey Guitarist popped the question during a Journey concert in Baltimore Sunday night benefiting the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, and Salahi, of course, said yes so now they are officially engaged.
Tareq didn’t take it too well when his wifey left him for Schon and was openly, and very publicly, having a relationship with him while still married so he sued Schon for $50 million claiming that Schon broke up his marriage.
The case was settled in August.
