Bye bye Larry; Hello Lana. Matrix Director Larry Wachowski changes Sex and is now Lana.
As Larry, he was one half of the word famous Wachowski brothers and both Larry and Andy were responsible for directing the blockbuster “Matrix” series of movies.
The Wachowki brothers wrote comic books for Marvel Comics. In 2003, they created Burlyman Entertainment and released comic books based on The Matrix
The sex change has been 10 years in making. Rumors had been circulating for years that as Larry, he was a cross dresser as far back as the year 2000. The “brothers’ never publicly commented on the speculation.
As Larry Wachowski, he infamously left his wife of 15 years for another woman back when “The Matrix” was released. The woman was reportedly a dominatrix named Karin Winslow.
Lana reportedly completed her gender reassignment surgery back in 2008.
Before Lana’s public unveiling today, she was allegedly referred to as Laurenca Wachowski on some documents. Some outlets had even already started referring to the duo as brother and sister, Lana and Andy.
While Wachowski and her brother are known to be shy about speaking on camera, they did give an interview for the “Cloud Atlas” trailer. The focus of the interview is of course supposed to be on the film rather than on Lana however you can see what Lana looks like.
She speaks in a breathy voice,sports pink dreadlocks and says, HI. I’m Lana”, in the trailer opening.
Cloud Atlas has an all star cast of Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Hugh Grant, and Susan Sarandon. The film is based on the 2004 novel of the same name.
The official synopsis for Cloud Atlas describes the film as
an epic story of humankind in which the actions and consequences of our lives impact one another throughout the past, present and future as one soul is shaped from a murderer into a savior and a single act of kindness ripples out for centuries to inspire a revolution.
Will the brother and sister Wachowski duo have another mega hit on the hands. From the looks of the trailer, the very well might.
