X Factor judges bond because they are both troubled

It’s pretty obvious that Simon Cowell doesn’t like to lose. He’s just an ultra competitive guy.  So it’s got to be killing him that the X-factor USA just hasn’t taken off the way he wants it to.  Cowell figured the issue was the X Factor judges, and not him or the general show vibe, of course, so he cleaned house ceremoniously dumped Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and even host Steve Jones

Pure and simple, Cowell wanted some “young blood” to lure in the viewers.  The “young blood” turned out to be 2 very troubled starlets and new X Factor judges, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato,

Both Demi Lovato and Britney Spears have a lot more in common than just being X Factor judges. Both are former Disney stars, both are troubled, both have seen their looks fade, both suffer from mental and emotional issues and both have been pounded by the media because of their troubles.

X Factor Judges X Factor judges bond because they are both troubledMost of the attention has been on Britney Spears.  We all know about her famous meltdown and her current conservatorship status.  She has that dull vacant look in her eyes and many marvel at just how different she looks.  Of course she is a bit older now but still she is only 30 years old.! She is reportedly so unstable that in order for Simon to sign her to a reported record breaking 15 million a year for the first year to join the other X Factor judges, he also had to give her manager, finance and caretaker, Jason Traywick a job as a “producer”.  Traywick’s so-called producer job is to stand within a few feet of Britney, at all times just watching over her – – and he gets paid for this. Wow!

Demi Lovato, thought only 19 has her share of troubles too. Self mutilation. Yup, the girl has been cutting herself and slitting her wrists since she was 11 – by her own admission! Regarding her most recent stint in a treatment center, where she was treated for cutting, bulimia and emotional issues,  Demi has said, “Cutting is a way of expressing my own shame, of myself, on my own body”.  Well um OK.

It would have made the show more interesting to have an  X Factor judge or 2  who outwardly appear a bit more “together” and who would gel a bit more with the judges.  It looks like Simon Cowell and L.A .Reid are on the show with their daughters.  It’s just not a camaraderie type of thing. Speaking of L.A. Reid, he really slips a notch on the respect ring.  When he was asked how Britney would have fared had she performed as an unknown on the X-Factor he replied, “If I was a judge she would have won!”. People, she can’t sing!

Way back when, before drugs, mental breakdowns and “life” affected her, Britney Spears was absolutely stunning.  As far as her “singing”, she hasn’t sang since she was like 7 years old on Star Search.  It’s all studio magic. Is he friggin’ kidding!

Katy Perry would have been a good choice to join the other X Factor judges.  Though young, she gives off more of an “I’m my own person”  vibe and could have engaged in intelligent, interesting and fun banter with the other X Factor judges plus offer good advice and helpful critiques. There was talk of Mariah Carey too.  Even though she is royally screwed up, or was, she is a phenomenal talent and would have been an awesome choice to join the team of  X Factor judges.  Maria Carey is nobody’s puppet. She’s a real talent with an amazing multi-octave voice.  She has drive and determination plus she is a songwriter. Advice from her coming from the X Factor judges table would really be worth something for those trying to get “in the business”. Simon Cowell would’ve probably had to cough up way more than $15 million to nab a talent like that.

What advice could these troubled X Factor judges possibly give that is worth anything?  Let’s see, perhaps they could offer up advice on “12 different ways to cut yourself” or perhaps “How to have fun and party with the Paparazzi”.  Maybe they could both offer advice on “How to break into show business and make oodles of money even if you have little to no talent”.

You know that both of these troubled X-factor judges are pretty bland.  Their oft need “breaks” from the set if they see someone who is really good (jealousy anyone) or whenever it just strikes their fancy are one of the few ways they can get some press.  Oh and they also like playing stupid games with Simon Cowell’s replacement while he was out sick during the auditions..

Is this who you want your teenager growing up to emulate?  If I had kids, I’d probably cringe (and slap some sense into them) if they said, “I want to be like Britney Spears or Demi Lovato”.  Is it any wonder that a lot of the young people are growing up really, REALLY screwed up.

Perhaps Simon just can’t handle a level playing field.  I mean he’s got his hands full with LA Reid, who is pretty tough so it would be easier for him to have “mold-able”, not too emotionally sound X Factor judges.  I guess he figures it’s a win-win.  He needs ratings and they need publicity.

Simon, you were really desperate on this one. We all know you don’t need the money so is it that important to you to have a hit show that you will exploit anything and employ X Factor judges who don’t really add anything to the show.
